Quality

Our goal is to provide the highest quality orthodontic care in a modern, comfortable environment. Examples include:

No reuse of braces or wires: It is common practice in many orthodontic offices today to utilize “second-hand” and “already used” braces and wires. We feel that each patient deserves the best, and so in our office, we do not reuse the same braces or wires on a second patient.

The highest quality materials: There is a considerable range in the quality of braces, wires and other orthodontic appliances. We use only the highest quality orthodontic materials in order to give you the very best result.

Heat-activated wires: Orthodontic wire is now available that delivers a more gentle force over a longer period of time. These wires, which are based on space-age technology, move teeth more efficiently with fewer appointments and are thus more convenient for our patients. Treatment time is reduced dramatically with the use of these advanced wires.

Sterilization: Safety is on everyone’s mind, thus we upgrade our infection control and sterilization procedures as new guidelines, equipment and techniques become available. We adhere to and exceed the guidelines put forth by the Canadian Dental Association and the Canadian Association of Orthodontists.

Disposable items: These are used whenever possible and are always discarded once used or exposed to the treatment environment.

Individualized treatment planning: No two patients have exactly the same problems. While some orthodontic problems are very minor in nature, others are quite severe. As a result, it is important that each patient be treated according to their individual needs.

Updated techniques: We are committed to staying current with the latest procedures, guidelines, techniques and equipment, and so Dr. Korne and his staff frequently attend scientific courses to update their skills.

The advanced techniques and materials we currently use have greatly reduced the discomfort of treatment as well as the overall treatment time and frequency of office visits. Be sure to ask us about lingual braces, clear braces, removable appliance treatment, computer imaging, heat-activated wires and the other advancements now available for our patients.

Orthodontic treatment not only straightens crooked teeth, but it also plays an important role in the improvement of overall oral health. Our goal is to achieve balance and harmony between the teeth and other facial structures. We also want to help you reduce your chances of tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss.

As you consider the cost of orthodontic treatment, also consider these benefits of this lifelong investment. Unlike anything else you buy to improve your appearance, your new smile can last a lifetime!
